 Lung Decortication in Clinical research to treat malignant mesothelioma is very active and although no treatment has yet proved entirely successful , there are a variety of treatments available for people diagnosed with the disease. 

There are three types of standard treatment used to treat malignant mesothelioma which include :Lung Decortication as a surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Lung Decortication for malignant mesothelioma is divided into a number of sub -classes, which are specially designed to limit the lung removal for individuals with certain strains of the disease.

Extrapleural pneumonectomy is a severe form of Lung Decortication in which the entire lung and a portion of the chest wall , diaphragm,lung removal and some or all of the sac that surrounds the heart is removed.

Wide local excision is Lung Decortication a form of surgery that targets and removes the cancer and a limited amount of healthy tissue surrounding the lung removal cancerous area .

Pleurectomie decortication and removes a portion of the Lung Decortication envelope of the lung and chest wall and portions of the housing out of the lungs .

Pleurodesis surgical procedure is a different Lung Decortication technique is employed as a mixture of chemicals and / or medications to intentionally create a scar between the layers of the pleura. 

Post lung lobectomy, the space created by the lung removal scar must be drained through a catheter or chest tube ,Lung Decortication and then filled with a chemical that inhibits the accumulation of fluid in the pleural cavity.

The third treatment of malignant mesothelioma is standard chemotherapy. Used chemotherapy drugs and stop cancer cells from dividing and thus impede its growth .

In systemic chemotherapy , the drug can be taken orally or by injection, but in any case the aim is to reach cancer cells throughout the body's circulatory system itself .lung removal Regional chemotherapy , the drug is directly in the target area of lung removal. 

And finally , combination chemotherapy involves the use of two or more anti-cancer drugs that can be administered orally or lung lobectomy by injection.
